Pellets are made from sawdust, shavings and wood chips. These materials are waste from the manufacture of flooring, furniture, lumber and other wood products. This material is pushed under extreme pressure through dies, which form the pellets. During this extrusion the wood releases a natural chemical called lignin that help to hold the pellet in their shape. Wood pellets are available in 40 lb bags that are easy to handle and store.
